For me, it is about creating a balance by rewarding results AND recognizing progress.

I sat in a three-hour meeting this afternoon... of which one hour was spent learning about how a public utility's rates are structured. Yes, I know this sounds about as exciting as my first post-college job in banking - pulling old staples out of documents and putting new staples in them. (True story!) But for me this meeting was fascinating. Fascinating because it was a real life study in how we can make? allow? processes to become so complex that they become undecipherable.

I believe emptiness causes more people to despair of life than does pain.

Another truism from Beth Moore. This empty time in my life was when I 'had it all' - the corner office, executive assistant, Coach briefcase, executive title on my business card. It wasn't until I turned my back on all that made me appear successful by wordly standards and step out in faith that I discovered the full life we as Christians are promised.
